Can I Donate to the Museum?

The Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library cannot accept items mailed to the Museum or dropped off without an appointment.

Can I donate to the Library?

Donate your new and gently used books, music, and movies. We often add your donations to our collection! Items we do not need for the collection are given to the used book sale to benefit new purchases for the Library collection.

Materials can be donated Tuesday through Friday 10 am - 5 pm.

Please do not place donations in the Library drop box. Materials in the drop box will be placed in the lost and found.​ New and gently used books and media can be dropped off at the front desk anytime during open hours.

Donations of more than two boxes must be scheduled with Library Staff.

Thank you for your donation inquiry. Currently we are assessing our current local history collection to understand what we have and what capacity we have in the way of potentially expanding in the future. This is an in-depth project that will take considerable time. Our librarian is available to discuss any potential donations by appointment. If you can hang on to your potential donation, we have helpful information on storing these objects safely listed below.
